身口意三门供养上师的真正意趣 | The True Meaning Of Offering Body

 很多弟子见到上师时都发愿以身口意三门供养上师，但大多数人都不知三门供养究竟为何意？

    若只是口里说一下，并献上佛像、佛塔、经书，如此形式化的供养又具何意？

     真正的身供养是身体只做上师诸佛菩萨开许、欢喜、对自他有利的事，不做恶事，不违背因果；真正的语供养是口里只说善语、真实语，令上师及众生欢喜的语言、对众生有利的经咒、教言；真正的意供养是心里日夜想着上师，不起恶念、护持正念，心心念念唯为利他。如此尚为身口意三门供养。

     以信心依止上师、供养三门的目的，是决心放下我执，从此依上师之教言行持，而不仅仅是外相的供养。

     一切供养、持戒、布施等六度万行皆以利益众生、依教奉行为准，若离于此、离于心，皆已偏离正道。

The True Meaning Of Offering Body, Mouth And Mind To Guru

Most disciples vow to offer body, mouth and mind to guru, but they don’t know the meaning of it. If it is just a casual intention and a formal offer presenting buddha statues, pagodas and buddhist scriptures, what is the value of it?

Conversely, the true body offer is to do the things that guru or buddhas and bodhisattvas support or feel happy about and the things that benefit others instead of hurting others and disobey causes and effects; the true mouth offer is to tell the truth, say kind words, speak in the words that make guru and sentient beings happy, or say sutra mantras that benefit  sentient beings; the true mind offer is to think of guru all the time, have no evil intentions, keep mindfulness and only consider about how to benefit others. These are the true meaning of offering body, mouth and mind to guru.

The aim of relying on guru in confidence and offering things to Trirantna is to decide to get rid of attachments and act based on guru’s teaching rather than only offering guru those external things.

All offering, sila and donation should aim to benefit sentient beings and follow guru’s teachings, otherwise it just strays from the right path.
