调整依止导师之发心｜ Adjusting Our Motivation for Taking Refuge ......

有些弟子依止导师不是为了希求解脱，而是为了追求名闻利养、神通神变，因此观察导师时并不注重导师的出离心、菩提心和信心，传承法脉是否清净以及摄受弟子是否传讲解脱法要，而是只注重导师外在显现的神通或一些灵异之事上。只要导师显现神通，无论他是否传讲佛法都生起极大的信心而依止。其实一般具相导师虽有不可思议之境界，但以细致取舍因果之故，一般不会轻易示现神通、神变，而且为了破除弟子对神通的执着，于讲法中还会细致辨析行道过程中觉受显现与证悟之差异，避免弟子迷于偏道。而且很多外道也具备有些神通，但神通再厉害若没有证悟实相也无法脱离轮回。因此，大家在观察导师的时候一定要调整发心，切莫只重表相，忽略真正的解脱正法。

Adjusting Our Motivation for Taking Refuge from Buddhist Masters Some disciples take the refuge from their master not for their liberation, but for fame, money, and superhuman powers. Therefore, when observing their master, they do not pay attention to the master’s mind of renunciation, bodhicitta, and faith.They don’t care about whether the lineage of dharma is pure or whether the master imparts the teachings of liberation to disciples. They only pay attention to the outward manifestations of the master’s superhuman powers or some supernatural anecdotesabout him. As long as the master shows his superhuman powers, those disciples will have great confidence in him no matter he imparts Buddhist teachings or not. Many enlightened Buddhist masters have achieved miraculous progress in their Buddhist practice. But they do not easily demonstrate their superhuman powers in front of people because of their careful judgment of karma. In addition, to help his disciples break obsession for superhuman powers, in his teaching, the master will carefully analyze the difference between manifestations and enlightenment so thathis disciples will not be obsessed with deviant ways of practice. Many practitioners of other religions also possess superhuman powers, but, without enlightenment, superpowers alone will not enable us to escape samsara, the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Therefore, while we observe the actions of a Buddhist master, we must adjust our motivation for taking refuge from them. We should not just focus on manifestations, thereby neglecting the genuine dharma of liberation.
