Is a chair only a type of seat to you? When necessary, we can definitely use it also for dining, writing and even as firewood after splitting it, can’t we?
Likewise, people in the old days rarely could ever imagine a cell phone’s extensive involvement in our daily life nowadays, far more than just being a tool for making calls.
The truth is we are just being limited by our habits, limited by the conceivable limitedness. If your mind is fully open, if you’re willing to acknowledge that everything is possible, and if you also try with training efforts that open up your mind to the infinite possibilities, the infiniteness will eventually realize, even the Land of Bliss will appear to you, in Buddha Amitabha’s presence.
All the inventions and changes have occurred only in company with the expansion of human mind. Adherence to the outdated practices or the existing habit implies only stagnation to follow.
Try standing on a table. From that moment on, your habitual perception of the single use of a table starts to fall apart, and from the same moment on, another possibility may arise.
In fact, there may be many other possibilities that we’re blinded from seeing, by our own karma and habitual dispositions. We even fear and refuse to see more possibilities – because of our habits, the fear to change, we have been caging ourselves invisibly but firmly.
Let’s open up our mind and heart to believe in the possibilities, to believe in the infiniteness and boundlessness inherent in our Buddhist practice. Arising from such a genuine belief and the trials to commit, miraculous infiniteness will come into being bit by bit.
