行善难——要坚持 Doing Good Is Hard And That Should Be Kept On

藏地有个谚语:向上走需要三年，向下只要一天。还有说:一百个人向上拉，也不如一个人向下拉的力量大。

     做任何事情，进步都是很难的，退步却很容易，尤其是现在这个五浊时期，人们福报浅薄，烦恼炽盛，恶的力量很强，在这样的环境下，要坚持善的言行，是需要莫大的勇气与精进，要有坚定的意志与信心。

     有时候，好的语言，听千千万万，也不如一个不如法的人说的三言两语；辛辛苦苦积累的功德，只需一念无明烦恼就可能摧毁无余；这是一种规律。

   但即便如此，要相信人性本善，一直坚持善的起心动念。恶念的势力虽强，也只是天空中的乌云，虚空本性是清净的，只是被乌云暂时遮蔽。

Doing Good Is Hard And That Should Be Kept On.

There is a proverb in Tibet: it takes three years to go up and one day to go down. Another saying: the power of one hundred men to pull up is not as strong as that of one man to pull down.

To do anything, to progress is difficult but to retreat is very easy, especially nowadays, during the period of five turbidity. Men are insufficient in their merits and deep in their troubles. At the same time, the evil power in our heart is powerful. In such an environment, the persistence of kind words and deeds requires a great courage, dedication, firm will, and confidence.

Sometimes, a few words from a person who knows Dharma, truth of the universe, surpass myriads of good languages. Hard works to accumulate the merits and virtues can be destroyed in a moment of ignorant affliction. This is truth.

But even so, we should believe in the inherence of human goodness and always insist on the inspiration of goodness. Though the evil thoughts are strong, they are just like the dark clouds in the sky, which will not last long. The empty nature is pure though it is temporarily covered by dark clouds.
