In the "Blue Book" the Venerable Bodova said: "Gaining how much blessing from gurus depends not on gurus, but in oneself. If having no respect, one cannot get benefit even if relying on the Buddha, so it is important to be respectful and not arrogant. Those who want to be free must have respect and belief in gurus, as to the Buddha. Since the guru is the master of all dharma pith, the guru is the true Buddha. The guru is the gate of learning the dharma pith.
Therefore, Da Ren’s master, Aqiu Lama Rinpoche said:“You’ll get Buddha’s blessing if you take the guru as the Buddha, or you’ll get an ordinary person blessing if you take the guru as an ordinary person.” One of the biggest obstacles of a practitioner to incorporate all principles into continuum, even though he has them all, is his contempt for the guru and failure to regard him as the true Buddha.
"Gongdezang" says: “The master who fulfills all aspects of virtues is the embodiment of wisdom and great compassion of all Buddhas. They show as normal people but for the benefit of all living beings.”
