人们都明白

打地基是为了盖房屋

打地基不是盖房的最终目的

房屋的牢固性却完全来自地基

修行也一样

做好人、信因果、闻思经论

这些都不是修行的最终目标

却支撑着所有之后的修行

你要奔着最终的目标去

却不能忽略任何一个善

修行不是为了做好人

但一个背信弃义、恩将仇报的人

却永远也无法成就

信因果、闻思经论

都不是修行的最终目的

但无论修什么高深的法

如果没有因果正见

没有通达修行的全部道路

终会像一栋没有地基的房屋

用不了多久就会轰然倒塌

Everyone knows

The foundation was laid to build a house.

Foundation construction is not the ultimate goal of building a house.

However, the solidity of the house completely depends on the foundation.

It is the same as practice,

Being a good person, believing in cause and effect, hearing and pondering sutras and sastras.

These are not the ultimate goals of practice.

But they support all further practice.

You should stride towards your ultimate goals,

But cannot ignore any virtue.

Though practice is not for being a good man,

A man who is treacherous and returns evil for good can never succeed.

Neither believing in cause and effect nor hearing

and pondering sutras and sastras is the ultimate goal of practice.

But no matter what kind of profound Dharma you practice,

If you do not have the correct view of cause and effect and ways to practice,

Like a house without foundation,

It won't last long before collapse.
