加持是什么？｜ Blessing

大多数人以为上师加持只是念个经、摸个顶，打个卦。然这样就等于只把如意宝珠用来照明，实则可惜了这段殊胜的因缘。摸顶、赐予加持品等外在形相仅为加持之缘。真实之加持乃通过挚诚祈祷上师，烦恼减少，功德增上，对法之觉悟方为获得圆满加持。对，你要明白真正加持的来源是挚诚祈祷，而不是打卦、算命。而你的命也只能通过祈祷，让心转恶为善，从自私变成无私，才能真正转变。没有哪个佛菩萨，哪位上师能把你的因果带走，他能做的只是为你指路，指他走过的路，但你能否相信他，跟他走或不走，怎么走，全在你自己。

世界上所有的事都不存在侥幸，你付出一分便得一分，而修行依师更是如此，你信多少便得多少，百分之百的加持完全来源于你百分之百的信任与祈祷。

Blessing

Most people would misinterpret the blessing from their spiritual teachers as a mere formality, which includes touching the heads, reciting a scripture, and fortune-telling. Like using a Cintamani, a wish-fulfilling jewel, only for the purpose of illumination, such misinterpretation undoubtedly demeans the supreme notion of blessing. What the teachers do—touching the heads, handing out gifts, etc.—are only their ways of showing us the path through which the true spiritual blessing can be found.

The true spiritual blessing can be obtained by praying sincerely to the teachers, which then results in the reduction of afflictions and the enhancement of merits. Once we thoroughly understand the Dharma, the wholeness and greatness of blessing will emerge. You have to understand that only through sincere prayers can your life be changed. The change essentially comes from benevolence and selflessness. The spiritual teachers, the bodhisattvas or even the buddhas—no matter how powerful they are--cannot relieve you of your own karma; all they can do is to guide you to the path that led them to  what they are. Then it is completely up to you to decide whether to believe them and whether to follow the path.

Luck always seems to be against the man who depends on it. In fact, an effort would eventually translate into the equivalent amount of gains. This is particularly true in Buddhist practice: The more you believe in your teacher’s wisdom, the more you will get from practice in return. Therefore, 100% of trust and praying will yield 100% of bliss.
