Instead of divine power, clever talks and accurate observations and judgments of others, the continuously soft, pure and humble heart, and the pure view toward the guru and all flesh are the sign of maturity for Buddhists.
Maturity is not about letting go of everything; it's about being more critical of karma and carefully observing the karma happening at every moment. The more you learn and practice the dharma, the more your insights enhance and the less your arrogance and conceit exist. Increasing practice does not mean that you will feel the continuous joy, but that you do not care about the joy and the pain.
If you do not have this feeling, you should observe whether your practice has deviated from the right path.
