何为精进 | What is Diligence

如今我们遇到了殊胜的教法，殊胜的导师，可以说我们的法和导师与历代传承祖师没有丝毫之区别，最大的差距就是在精进与信心之上。

      所以这段时间我着重给大家讲了很多关于信心方面的问题。那么成办解脱所需之另外的条件就是精进，没有精进的闻思修行，信心是无从生起的。虽然现在很多修行人都能认识到精进修行的重要性，但却无法做到。或者表面上虽然非常精进，但内心仍无法时时与正法契合。 

     当知，做不到精进的最大过失乃忘失正念。正念分为改造意念之正念和无造法性之正念。对于初学者而言，很难达到无造法性之正念，所以应时时提起改造意念之正念——时时不忘自己在修行之中，时时不忘历代传承祖师之教言，时时不忘调伏自心，如是则已在精进之中。

     精进与信心并驾齐驱，即生解脱便是如同开水中煮鸡蛋，因缘聚积，果必成熟。

What is Diligence

We now have met supreme dharma, supreme gurus, and our dharma and gurus are of no difference from those of masters of previous generations. The biggest gap consists in diligence and confidence.

Recently I've been talking a lot about confidence. The other necessary  condition for liberation is diligence. Without learning, thinking and practicing the Dharma diligently, there is no way to generate confidence. Although many practitioners now realize the importance of practicing with diligence, they can not do it. Although with seeming diligence, the inner mind can not match the dharma all the time.

It should be known that the most serious fault for failing to be diligent is the loss of  mindfulness. Mindfulness is divided into transforming-thought mindfulness and non-artificial natural mindfulness.  It is very difficult for beginners to achieve non-artificial natural mindfulness, so we should always keep an eye on transforming-thought mindfulness -- always keep in mind that you are practicing , always keep in mind the teaching from previous masters, always remember to adjust and quell our mind. Then we are already with diligence.

With both diligence and confidence, achieving liberation in this life is like cooking eggs in boiling water, which is done easily when necessary conditions are met.
