若对外境与自身执著为端严美妙，就会生起剧烈的贪心。比如以为女人的身体娇媚可爱，这种非理作意再三生起后，相续中的贪心就会像大海中的波浪一样重重无尽，不可抑制。在此世间，无论是男人还是女人大多仰慕异性的姿容，但当我们用智慧去观察时，则不管是自认为多么殊妙的外境，其实都并无任何可爱的地方。

法王如意宝开示

If we attach external phenomena or ourselves with the notion of dignity and wonderfulness，we might generate intense greed. E.g., Some may consider women’s body as coquettish and adorable. If we produce such perverted mind state repeatedly, the desire for women will surge like repeating waves in the sea and finally becomes unquenchable. In this mundane world, people from the opposite sex are attracting to each other’s appearances. But when we observe this matter using wisdom, no matter how peculiar or wonderful the external phenomena are, there is nothing lovely in them.
